Lewis Toyota 2021 donation

Lewis Toyota donates $6,000 to Project Topeka

Officials of Lewis Toyota today presented Project Topeka President Dan Woodard with a check for $6,000. Lewis Toyota donated $3,000 with Toyota, Corp., matching it. Lewis Toyota has also placed a donation box for Project Topeka on its showroom floor to collect additional donations.

“This donation couldn’t come at a more important time,” said Woodard. “As we continue through the COVID-19 pandemic people who have never had to ask for help before are seeking help from the food pantries served by Project Topeka.”

Project Topeka is our community’s original food drive, having begun in 1986. The organization supports seven local food pantries with food and monetary donations. Each dollar donated purchases $1.67 of food thanks to a bulk purchasing arrangement with Seabrook Apple Food Market.

The seven food pantries supported by Project Topeka are Doorstep, Inc., Let’s Help, Salvation Army, Faith and Family Fellowship, Topeka Rescue Mission, I-Care and Topeka North Outreach.
